CineEurope Preview: 'Sex Tape,' 'Hundred-Foot Journey' Among Offerings
The annual convention of international exhibitors runs June 16-19 in Barcelona.
This story first appeared in the June 20 issue of The Hollywood Reporter magazine.
In addition to glitzy Hollywood studio presentations and parties -- including a Night at the Museum-themed bash thrown by Fox -- CineEurope treats foreign exhibitors to full screenings of upcoming summer titles. This year's line-up includes Sony's Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel comedy Sex Tape; DreamWorks' The Hundred-Foot Journey, executive produced by Oprah Winfrey; and New Line's Into the Storm.
Marvel Studios' production chief Kevin Feige also is expected to turn up in Barcelona to share lengthy footage from Guardians of the Galaxy, while Paramount will show either Transformers: Age of Extinction or Hercules in full. Jeffrey Katzenberg will host a DreamWorks Animation presentation, as will a number of European indies, including Entertainment One, Mister Smith Entertainment and StudioCanal. CineEurope is operated by FilmExpo Group, which is owned by THR's parent company, Guggenheim Partners.
