Cineflix Hires Ex-Jigsaw Productions Exec as Development Head (Exclusive)
Dave Snyder comes over from Alex Gibney's shingle to get the 'American Pickers' producer deeper into blue-chip factual shows for U.S. networks and formats for foreign buyers.
American Pickers producer Cineflix Media has hired Dave Snyder away from Alex Gibney's Jigsaw Productions to get the indie deeper into blue-chip factual shows for U.S. networks as vice president of development.
Snyder, who was vp development and production at Jigsaw, oversaw cable and digital content for Gibney's shingle and developed factual shows like The New Yorker Presents for Amazon Studios, Death Row Stories for CNN and Edge of Eighteen for Al Jazeera America.
Based out of Cineflix’s New York office, Snyder will develop premium factual series for U.S. network partners that aim to also play well internationally for Cineflix Rights, the London-based distribution arm. "His (Snyder's) proven ability to work successfully across an array of genres makes Dave a real asset in Cineflix’s plans for growth," said Cineflix co-founder and co-CEO Glen Salzman in a statement about Snyder expanding and diversifying his company's programming slate and buyers.
Snyder will report to Dave Hamilton, who was recently appointed executive vp development at Cineflix, while also working closely with president of production Charles Tremayne. "Dave Hamilton and Charles Tremayne are known not just for their quality work and commercial savvy, but for being all-around great guys who foster creativity and collaboration," Snyder said in his own statement.
Cineflix annually produces around 200 hours of programming, including the Emmy-nominated Property Brothers, Mayday: Air Disaster, and high-end scripted factual series like Gangland Undercover. Other recent commissions include American Lawmen, Vegas 911 and new projects for Lifetime, Discovery Science and Investigation Discovery.
