Cinematographers to be honored by ICG

Honorees' films will be shown on Sept. 13

The International Cinematographers Guild has selected its 2009 Emerging Cinematographer Awards honorees, whose short films will be screened on Sept. 13 at the Directors Guild of America.

This year's films and honorees are: "Watchtower," Julie Kirkwood; "Two, Four, Six," Robert Kositchek; "Crust,: Russell Griffith; "Oh Baby I Love You," Eduardo Mayen; "Idiot Box," Patrick Meade Jones; "Aftermath," Jacon Ellson; "Rain Rain," David Speck, and "Almost Perfect," Paolo Cascio.

Honorable mentions were awarded to "Learning to Fly," Timothy Roarke and "Wick," Darmain Acevedo.

"Each year ICG Local 600 has the privilege to honor the best of its new talent, and is one of the few organizations as a Guild, which honors these members and sets them apart in a positive way," president Steven Poster said.

The honorees were selected on the basis of short films submitted by members of ICG who are not yet rated as directors of photography. They were judged by a panel of cinematographers.
