'Closer' Set to Return to London's West End
Patrick Marber's award-winning play, which became a hit film in 2004, is being revived by the Donmar Warehouse
Patrick Marber's Closer is set to return to the London stage in the spring of 2015 with a revival announced by the Donmar Warehouse.
Closer first came to prominence in 1997 as an award-winning stage play before it was adapted into a critically acclaimed film in 2004, directed by Mike Nichols and starring Clive Owen, Julia Roberts, Natalie Portman and Jude Law.
Owen and Portman were both nominated for best supporting actor Oscars and took the respective Golden Globes in those categories in 2005.
The new London production will see Closer return to its roots. The play will be directed by David Leveaux with Nancy Carroll, Oliver Chris, Rachel Redford and Rufus Sewell set to star.
Among a slew of other new productions, the Donmar also announced that Howard Davies will direct Steve Waters' new play Temple, a fictionalized account of events that took place during the 2011 Occupy demonstration outside St Paul's Cathedral.
