'Closer' in syndie lineup

TNT drama to Fox O&Os; 'SVU' ready to strip

"The Closer" has found a home in broadcast syndication.

Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution has sold weekend broadcast rights to the first four seasons of the TNT drama to the Fox Television Stations for a fall 2010 premiere. The agreement includes the Fox O&Os in 16 markets including New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.

"Closer," from Warner Bros. TV and the Shephard/Robin Co., stars Kyra Sedgwick as a CIA-trained deputy police chief. The series was created by James Duff, who exec produces with Greer Shephard and Michael M. Robin.

In other syndication news, "Law & Order: SVU" has been sold in more than 92% of the country for its broadcast syndication debut as a strip in fall 2009.

NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution has sold the NBC procedural, currently in its second season in weekend syndication, to stations owned by Fox, CBS, Sinclair, Sunbeam, LIN, Granite, Meredith, Local TV, Hearst, Media General and others.

Meanwhile, Program Partners has renewed "Degrassi: The Next Generation" for a third and fourth year in syndication in 60% of the U.S. The distributor has locked up commitments from all 19 Tribune markets, including WPIX New York, KTLA Los Angeles and WGN Chicago; all five ACME stations; and the CW Plus stations.
