'Clouds of Sils Maria' Trailer: Kristen Stewart Flirts With Juliette Binoche (Video)

Chloe Grace Moretz co-stars in the upcoming drama about an aging actress who clashes with her younger colleague.

Kristen Stewart plays a loyal assistant to Juliette Binoche's aging actress in the first trailer for Clouds of Sils Maria

In the upcoming drama, Binoche is Maria, a stage actress who agrees to star in a revival of the play that made her famous 20 years ago. This time, Maria is playing the part of the older woman who is driven to suicide, while a rebellious Hollywood starlet, Jo-Ann (Chloe Grace Moretz), plays her adversary in the play.

When Maria and Jo-Ann start to clash, Maria's complicated -- and possibly romantic -- relationship with her assistant, Valentine (Stewart), is thrown into jeopardy. "You hate the play, you hate her -- you don't have to take it out on me," Valentine tells Maria.

The film -- with shades of All About Eve -- is written and directed by Olivier Assayas. His last film, Something in the Air, won him the Best Original Screenplay prize at the 2012 Venice Film Festival.

For Stewart, this film presents her latest effort to distance herself from the more commercial fare that made her famous, namely the blockbuster Twilight series. Her drama Camp X-Ray, set at Guantanamo Bay, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January.

Clouds of Sils Maria premieres in competition at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival on May 23. IFC Films is releasing it in theaters in the fall.
