CNN Promotes Sam Feist to Washington Bureau Chief
The longtime staffer will lead newsgathering and oversee daily operations from the nation's capital.
CNN has promoted Sam Feist to Washington bureau chief and senior vp.
In his new role, Feist will oversee daily operations of the bureau and lead newsgathering and programming from the nation's capital. The news comes two years after he was upped to political director and vp of Washington-based programming.
"For two decades at CNN, Sam has demonstrated his commitment to serious journalism and strong political programming," said Ken Jautz, executive vp CNN/U.S.
Feist begins his new role immediately and will report to Jautz.
In his previous role, Feist oversaw Washington programming including The Situation Room With Wolf Blitzer and State of the Union With Candy Crowley, in addition to coordinating all facets of CNN's daily political coverage including election nights.
“I couldn't be more excited to take on this new role and build on the great journalism and the tremendous expertise of the CNN Washington bureau,” Feist said.
Feist has been with CNN since 1991.
