CNN's Bill Weir Hosting Discovery Show On Border Patrol
'Border Live' will air six episodes starting Dec 5.
Discovery channel is going to the border with a new show about law enforcement and immigration called Border Live, to be hosted by CNN anchor Bill Weir.
The six-part show will debut on Wednesday, Dec. 5.
The show "will document the work of law enforcement on the U.S.-Mexico border as well as the real lives, real moments and real stories of those that live and work along its remote stretches," according to the Friday announcement.
While Weir will host from New York, "crews will be embedded out in the field with officers and special agents at key border sites from Nogales, Arizona in the west to the Rio Grande Valley and points east."
Veteran investigative journalist Lilia Luciano, who works for ABC10 in Sacramento, will report for the show.
"The U.S.-Mexico border has been the focus of our national dialogue over the last several years," Discovery & Factual chief brand officer Nancy Daniels said in a prepared statement. "Our goal with this project is to shine a light on epic stories through immersive experiences, and we will turn that lens on one of the biggest and most important stories of our time."
"Grateful for the chance to join @lilialuciano in bringing you six nights in the life of the border, live," Weir wrote on Twitter on Friday.
