Coldplay Releases First Song From Upcoming Fifth Album

“Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall” is the first single from the band’s untitled album, the follow-up to 2008’s “Viva La Vida.”

Coldplay’s back.

The British band released the first single off its upcoming untitled fifth album, “Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall,” on Friday.

The new track is already on sale in digital retail stores in most parts of the world, but the Los Angeles Times says fans in the U.K. will have to wait until Sunday to purchase the track.

The new album, produced by Brian Eno, is reportedly influenced by the graffiti culture in New York City of the 1970s.

The band went on a hiatus after the release of 2008’s Viva La Vida and “Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall” marks its return.
