Fashion's favorite French boutique is coming to an end after 20 years.

Those heading to Paris soon will want to make a pit stop at Parisian boutique Colette, which announced Wednesday that it'll be shutting its doors for good in December.

The retailer announced the news via Instagram, explaining that "[founder] Colette Roussaux has reached the time when she would like to take her time; and Colette cannot exist without Colette."

The French concept store, a popular destination for showgoers during fashion week, was founded by Roussaux and her daughter, Sarah Andelman, in 1997. Andelman currently serves as the shop's creative director.

Spanning three floors, the 8,000-square-foot space offers an assortment of high fashion and streetwear labels, from both established and emerging designers, beauty products, stationary, home decor and more. The boutique is also known for regularly hosting events. It most recently introduced brand takeovers on its first floor, starting with Balenciaga, which is currently selling its men's and women's fall collection and limited-edition products at the location until Aug. 5.

According to Colette, Saint Laurent is in talks to take over the Rue Saint-Honore location.

"Negotiations are under way with Saint Laurent and we would be proud to have a brand with such a history, with whom we have frequently collaborated, taking over our address," read the caption. "We are happy of the serious interest expressed by Saint Laurent in this project, and it could also represent a very good opportunity for our employees."

However, as Business of Fashion points out, the two businesses haven't always gotten along. When Colette sold "Ain't Laurent Without Yves" parody tees in 2013, Saint Laurent's commercial director demanded that the shirts be removed and its CEO sent a letter that stated the end of their business relationship.

Colette added that "nothing will change" until it closes Dec. 20, stating, "Colette will continue to renew itself each week with exclusive collaborations and offerings, also available on our website colette.fr." It was most recently announced that Colette will be collaborating with H&M on a nine-piece H&M capsule collection, available Aug. 21 before its global release Sept. 14.
