College TV Award presenters named

ATAS taps Jim Parsons, Ty Burrell, Peter Facinelli

Jim Parsons ("The Big Bang Theory"), Ty Burrell ("Modern Family") and Peter Facinelli ("Nurse Jackie") are among the presenters for the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation's 31st College Television Awards, taking place Saturday at Hollywood's Renaissance Hotel.

Additional presenters include Hill Harper ("CSI: NY"), Yvette Nicole Brown ("Community"), Chris Colfer ("Glee"), Gillian Jacobs ("Community"), Busy Phillipps ("Cougar Town"), Kerr Smith ("Life Unexpected"), the cast of MTV's "The Buried Life," Amanda Righetti ("The Mentalist"), Kelly Osbourne, Paris Barclay ("In Treatment"), Benito Martinez ("The Shield"), Tim Kang ("The Mentalist"), Pat Harvey and Jon Tenney ("The Closer").

The ceremony, which honors undergraduate and graduate student work in video, digital and film production, will be hosted by "Dancing With the Stars' " Tom Bergeron for the fourth year in a row. The gala recognizes 24 projects from 11 categories.

Past winners' work, such as Shane Ackers' short film "9" and Jorge Gutierrez's "El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera," have jump-started their careers. Ackers' project was turned into a full-length feature, and Gutierrez's "El Tigre" won an Emmy.

Winners will be featured at a screening hosted by "Entertainment Tonight's" Kevin Frazier on Sunday at the Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in North Hollywood.
