Combat Hospital Off To Solid Canadian TV Start

War may be hell, but ratings for the Canadian battle-zone medical drama Combat Hospital gave Global Television cause to celebrate.

TORONTO – Just as Canada pulls its troops out of Afghanistan, Global Television is pulling in viewers for Combat Hospital, a medical procedural set in that global hot spot.

The Global/ABC drama about a military medical unit in southern Afghanistan drew 1.96 million total viewers when it debuted here Tuesday night, according to BBM Canada data.

Helped by ABC’s promotion spilling across the border, Combat Hospital beat out competition Tuesday night from Citytv’s America’s Got Talent and its impressive 1.54 million total viewers.

The second season of another Global Television/ABC collaboration, Rookie Blue, debuts here tonight.
