Competition asks fans to make the film
EmptyNEW YORK -- After Dark Films and online production company Massify.com have joined forces to create "Ghosts in the Machine," an online competition inviting fans to pitch ideas, produce and vote on key elements in the making of a full-length horror feature.
The person behind the winning pitch will earn a producer's credit on the film. The final film will be theatrically released as part of the 2008 "8 Films to Die For" Horrorfest.
Horror fans are also invited to submit online video auditions for an acting role in the film, which online visitors will also choose. Those interested in film marketing and advertising can create and vote on publicity ideas during the film's production.
Once production begins, Massify.com will webcast behind-the-scenes footage of the project as an online reality series. The contestant whose pitch is selected as the winner will be flown out to see the production of the film and be featured in the webcast series.
