'Connor Undercover' goes to Turner

Tween comedy headed for Britain next year

TORONTO -- Turner Broadcasting has picked up the Canadian tween comedy "Connor Undercover" for broadcast in Britain in early 2010, Shaftesbury Sales Co. said Tuesday.

Toronto-based Shaftesbury's production arm, Shaftesbury Films, co-produces the live-action series with the Heroic Film Co.

Family Channel in Canada commissioned an initial 13 half-hours of the kids series about a 15 year-old spy buff, played by Max Morrow, who finds intrigue when the first daughter of a small island nation, performed by Lola Tash, comes into his life.

"Connor Undercover" was created by John May and Suzanne Bolch of Heroic Film Co.

Co-producer Shaftesbury Films earlier sold the Canadian drama "The Listener" to NBC and Fox International.

Shaftesbury Sales Co. is shopping the series worldwide.
