Constance Wu, Steven Yeun, Randall Park to Celebrate 25th Anniversary of Asian Pacific Entertainment Coalition
The star-studded celebration will take place Oct. 22 at The Belasco Theater in Los Angeles.
Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead), Constance Wu and Randall Park (Fresh Off the Boat) will be on hand to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment (CAPE) at its Los Angeles gala on Oct. 22. Anna Akana, Tia Carrere, D-trix, James Hong, Kelly Hu, Freddie Wong and Amazon Studios COO Albert Cheng are also among the entertainment executives and stars that will celebrate one of the longest running entertainment organizations advocating Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.
The event will be a star-studded affair at The Belasco Theater where David Kwong, magician and Hollywood consultant for Blindspot and Now You See Me, will entertain guests. The gala will celebrate the achievements of the organization, founded in 1991, which now has board members including Ang Lee, John Woo and Lou Diamond Phillips.
"For a quarter of a century, CAPE has promoted and nurtured Asian American and Pacific Islanders who are among the most creative and influential change-makers in Hollywood,” said CAPE executive director Michelle K. Sugihara. “In a time when diversity and inclusion are finally more than buzz words, and as the entertainment industry scrambles for more inclusive leaders and stories, CAPE looks forward to cultivating the rich talent pool within our community and to becoming an effective resource of AAPI talent for the industry.”
