ContentFilm takes dip in 'Fish Tank'

Sells French rights ahead of Festival de Cannes

PARIS -- German sales agent ContentFilm International has struck a deal for Andrea Arnold's "Fish Tank," selling French rights to Gallic distribution powerhouse MK2 ahead of its Competition screening at this month's Festival de Cannes, ContentFilm and MK2 said Monday.

"Tank," Arnold's follow-up to her 2006 Cannes Jury Prize-winning "Red Road," stars Michael Fassbender, Katie Jarvis and Kierston Wareing in the tale of a 15-year-old girl whose life is turned around when her mother brings home a new boyfriend.

Produced by Kees Kasander and Nick Laws and executive produced by Ruby Films' Paul Tribits and BBC Films' Christine Langan and David M. Thompson, the film was shot entirely on location in the U.K.

The deal was brokered by ContentFilm International President Jamie Carmichael and MK2's Jean-Francois Daveau. ContentFilm is handling global sales of the title.
