Corus nests with 'Scaredy Squirrel'

Venture includes 26-episode TV series

TORONTO -- Canadian broadcaster Corus Entertainment said it will develop the literary property "Scaredy Squirrel" into a multiplatform venture, including a 26-episode TV series for international sale.

Toronto-based Corus, which runs cartoon producer Nelvana, said it also plans animated shorts for the broadcast, mobile and online platforms, and a merchandise and licensing program from the Melanie Watt kids book series.

Nelvana Enterprises holds the worldwide broadcast, distribution and merchandising and licensing rights to the "Scaredy Squirrel" property.
