Counter-programming: NBC Uni TV Studio ups 2

Roth tops drama, Sanders comedy

NBC Universal Television Studio has promoted from within for its new heads of comedy and drama.

Elisa Roth was named senior vp drama programming and Vernon Sanders is the new senior vp comedy programming. Both were vps in their respective departments.

Sanders replaces Shelley Mc-Crory, and Roth replaces Laura Lancaster. Lancaster is expected to take the top drama job at Fox Broadcasting Co., while McCrory gave the studio notice in February that she would be leaving the company when her contract expired this month.

"Elisa Roth and Vernon Sanders represent the very best of what our studio stands for," said Katherine Pope, newly named president of NBC Uni TV Studio.

Roth has been with the studio since 2004, with previous stints at Universal Network Television and David E. Kelley Prods.

Sanders also worked at Universal, after stints at Nuance Prods. and Wind Dancer Prods.
