'Crashing' hits Gen Art fest

Gary Walkow's "Crashing" will kick off the Gen Art Film Festival on April 11 with its New York premiere, organizers said Thursday.

The film stars Campbell Scott, Lizzy Caplan, Izabella Miko and Alex Kingston.

The closing-night film is Frank Cappello's "He Was a Quiet Man," starring Christian Slater, Elisha Cuthbert, William H. Macy, Sascha Knopf and Jamison Jones.

The festival, which runs April 11-17, will premiere seven features and seven shorts by up-and-coming North American filmmakers. The screenings will take place at the Chelsea West Theater.

This year also marks the debut of Gen Art's Online Film Festival, in which a panel of judges will select seven short films based on the festival's "Green" theme to be available for viewing online at www.genartfilmfestival.com/online.
