Critics' Choice Awards: 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Director Mocks Chris Pratt

Rule Breakers Issue

Guardians of the Galaxy director/co-writer James Gunn and star Chris Pratt were photographed by Smallz + Raskind on Nov. 14 at the W Hotel in Los Angeles.

James Gunn confused the actor with Dwight from 'The Office.'

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn takes a lot of credit for star Chris Pratt's skyrocketing career.

"I want to thank Chris Pratt, who I rescued from obscurity playing a character named Dwight," he said while accepting the Best Action Movie honor. With Pratt standing by him, he went on to claim his Guardians star played Dwight on Two and a Half Men.

Pratt plays Andy on the NBC comedy Parks and Recreation. He definitely did not play Dwight on The Office.

Gunn also claimed he'd only heard about the Critics Choice Awards 30 minutes before he was due to arrive at the show. Someone told him he needed to show up because he might win an award.

The Broadcast Film Critics Association's 20th annual Critics' Choice Awards aired live on A&E, with Michael Strahan, co-host of Live with Kelly and Michael, hosting the ceremony.
