CTV Acquires CBS 'Mad Love' Sitcom

Canadian broadcaster to bow sitcom from Sony Pictures Television on Valentine's Day.

TORONTO – Canadian broadcaster CTV has picked up the Mad Love sitcom from Sony Pictures Television for its Monday night comedy block.

CTV will simulcast the series toplining Jason Biggs, Sarah Chalke, Tyler Labine and Judy Greer in the same slot as CBS, from February 14 at 8:30 p.m.

The mid-season comedy portrays a quartet of single friends in New York City, with two falling in love and the other two despising each other, at least initially.

CTV said it was drawn to Mad Love by the series' creators, executive producers Matt Tarses and Jamie Tarses, whose earlier sitcoms like Scrubs performed well for the Canadian broadcaster.

Mad Love will follow on the CTV schedule another new comedy, Mr Sunshine, a Matthew Perry and Allison Janney-starrer, also from Sony Pictures Television.
