Cusack amped about 'Power' failure

John Cusack and Cusack Enterprises have filed a $5.6 million lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court connected to Cusack's pay-or-play deal on shuttered project "Stopping Power."

Production was stopped on the Jan de Bont actioner last year after one of the film's main backers pulled out. This led to a budget shortfall that almost toppled Intermedia parent IM International Media.

IM ultimately was rescued by film financier David Bergstein, who acquired a 57% stake in IM for about $10 million. (partialdiff)
