CW current exec switching to development

Senior vp Gaye Hirsch set to shift positions at network

The CW's current executive Gaye Hirsch is switching to development.

Hirsch has been named senior vp drama development for the network, developing new hourlong series and reporting to Thom Sherman, executive vp drama development.

Hirsch most recently served as senior vp in the CW's current programming department, overseeing day-to-day production "Gossip Girl," "Melrose Place" and "Smallville."

Before joining the CW in 2006, Hirsch served as an exec at Cruise/Wagner Prods. and as vp production for HBO Films.
