CW refreshes makeovers

More pilot season coverage

The CW wants to give makeover reality shows a makeover.

The network has ordered a one-hour pilot titled "Styledome" that combines the traditional beauty makeover series with a race-against-the-clock competition show.

Each week, a trio of contestants must select a celebrity stylist from a lineup and compete in challenges and makeover drills to reinvent the contestant's look and confront issues holding them back in life. At the reveal, a live audience votes on which contestant benefited the most from the makeover

The project was created by Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun and produced by production companies Berman/Braun ("Duel") and Super Delicious ("Manswers," "Amneisa").

In addition to "Styledome," the CW also has a previously reported reality pilot from producers Tyra Banks and Ken Mok in which contestants vie to become assistant editors at a fashion magazine. The network also has "13," a reality horror series set for the summer.
