Shopping the Red Carpet: Daisy Ridley, a Shining Star in Monse
You can buy her dazzling dress from a galaxy not so far, far away.
The Dress: A strapless navy sequin star fringe dress from Monse's spring 2018 collection.
The Wearer: Daisy Ridley, who was styled by Samantha McMillen.
The Event: The Star Wars: The Last Jedi premiere in Los Angeles on Saturday. Ridley was joined by Lupita Nyong'o (in Halpern), Kelly Marie Tran (in custom Thai Nguyen Atelier), Laura Dern (in Vivienne Westwood Couture), John Boyega (in Versace), Gwendoline Christie (in custom Gucci), Chadwick Boseman (in Ports 1961), Mark Hamill and more.
Why It Matters: Ridley has been ruling the red carpet lately (thanks in part to McMillen), and she shone the brightest in her latest outing. The actress played up her film's space theme with a sophisticated yet playful star-print dress designed by Monse designers Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia, who also helm Oscar de la Renta. What makes the dress even more fun is the fringe skirt that allows for some red-carpet twirling (and Instagram videos, of course). A smokey eye, courtesy of makeup artist Kara Yoshimotobua, and a chic updo by hairstylist Robert Vetica completed the look.
Kim and Garcia's, er, stars continue to rise. Since launching Monse in spring 2016, the fashion house continues to be a celebrity favorite. Margot Robbie, Juno Temple, Naomi Campbell, Bella Hadid and Maggie Gyllenhaal all have recently worn the New York-based brand.
