Dalai Lama cancels Rome Film Festival trip

Health problems force cancellation of European tour

ROME -- The Dalai Lama, scheduled to appear at this year's Rome Film Festival as part of a special tribute to Tibet, has been forced to cancel his plans for health reasons, festival officials said Tuesday.

The health problems, which were not disclosed, will force the spiritual leader to back out of plans for an entire European tour, the festival said, adding that the Tibet tribute will now be suspended.
