Dan Gilroy-Jake Gyllenhaal Netflix Movie Adds to Ensemble Cast
Zawe Ashton, Natalia Dyer and Tom Sturridge join the horror thriller that reteams Gilroy with 'Nightcrawler' co-stars Gyllenhaal and Rene Russo.
Stranger Things star Natalia Dyer, Zawe Ashton and Tom Sturridge have joined Jake Gyllenhaal and Rene Russo in Netflix's untitled horror thriller to be directed by Dan Gilroy, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
The ensemble cast also includes Billy Magnussen, Daveed Diggs, Toni Collette and John Malkovich. The genre film, set in the art world and shooting in Los Angeles since March 5, reteams Gilroy with his Nightcrawler stars Gyllenhaal and Russo and producer Jennifer Fox.
Nightcrawler marked the directorial debut of screenwriter Gilroy and featured Gyllenhaal as a freelance crime reporter in Los Angeles. Gilroy's wife, Rene Russo, and Bill Paxton co-starred in the movie.
Betsy Danbury is executive producing Gilroy's latest film for Netflix,which features big-money artists and mega-collectors paying a high price when art and commerce collide. Netflix will launch the film later this year.
Dyer is also to star in Mountain Rest, an indie drama that marks the directorial debut of writer-director Alex O Eaton, and Collette (Little Miss Sunshine, The Sixth Sense) is set to star alongside Ashton in the six-part BBC drama Wanderlust, with Netflix on board as a co-producer.
