'Dance' performs for Fox; 'Studio 60' aids NBC


NEW YORK -- Fox won Thursday's primetime thanks to "So You Think You Can Dance," while NBC got a slight lift in the adults 18-49 demo with the series finale of "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip."

"Dance" was the night's top show in the adults 18-49 demo and just missed in viewership with 9.5 million viewers and a 3.4 rating/10 share in the adults 18-49 demographic, according to preliminary estimates released Friday by Nielsen Media Research. "CSI" (9.7 million, 2.5/7) was the night's top show in viewership.

Fox had no trouble winning at 8 p.m. with "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" (9.1 million, 2.9/10), which easily defeated "Pirate Master" (5.2 million, 1.6/6). The CBS reality show declined compared with last week's 1.9/7 while "5th Grader" held steady.

The 10 p.m. hour went to the series finale of "Studio 60" (4.2 million, 2.0/6) in the adults 18-49 demo while CBS' "Shark" (7.9 million, 1.9/6) came in second and in third place was ABC's "Men in Trees" (3.7 million, 1.1/3).

Thursday averages: Fox (9.3 million, 3.2/10); CBS (7.6 million, 2.0/6); NBC (4.5 million, 2.1/7); ABC (3.7 million, 1.1/3); and the CW (1.9 million, 0.7/2).
