Daniel Guckau Resigns From Kinowelt

During his time at the company, the exec picked up "March of the Penguins," "The Wrestler" and the "Saw" franchise.

BERLIN -- Daniel Guckau, acquisition and licensing boss at German mini-major Kinowelt, has resigned from the company.

As managing director and evp of Kinowelt International, Guckau picked up titles such as March of the Penguins, The Wrestler and the Saw franchise, titles that helped the compay rebuild its distribution arm after it went bankrupt in 2001.
Guckau was one of the last members of the old guard at Kinowelt that had seen the company through its rise, fall and return.

In 2008, France’s StudioCanal bought Kinowelt and installed new managers in many of the company’s key posts.
