The 'Harry Potter' star said the film industry considers itself "very progressive" but actually lags behind.

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has added his voice to the growing concern about diversity in Hollywood.

Speaking to the BBC, he said that the film industry is often seen as forward-thinking when it comes to encouraging diversity but actually falls behind other sectors.

"We like to think of ourselves as being a very, very progressive industry, but we have been lagging behind in all kinds of areas," he said.

Asked point-blank whether he thinks Hollywood is racist, the 27-year-old said: "It's pretty undeniable."

Radcliffe also discussed why he thought it was harder for gay actors to come out.

"I suppose then people just want to cast you as gay," he said.

As with many interviews, the subject also turned to Donald Trump, whom the actor criticized for the way he "stirred up" feelings of "fear and hatred."
