'Dark Knight' rings up most Saturn noms

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences might have given "The Dark Knight" short shrift in the eyes of the movie's fans, but the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror fully endorsed the movie Tuesday when it announced nominations for the 35th annual Saturn Awards.

The Batman saga leads the pack with 11 noms, including for best action/ adventure/thriller film, competing against "Changeling," "Gran Torino," "Quantum of Solace," "Traitor" and "Valkyrie."

"The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" and "Iron Man" followed with nine and eight nominations, respectively. Close behind is Bryan Singer's "Valkyrie" with seven noms and Steven Spielberg's "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" with six. (partialdiff)
