Grammys: David Bowie's 'Blackstar' Wins 5 Posthumous Awards
The late icon's 25th studio album was released just two days prior to his death on Jan. 10, 2016.
David Bowie's Blackstar won five posthumous awards at the 59th annual Grammys.
The late icon's 25th and final studio album was honored for best rock performance, best rock song, alternative music album, recording package and engineered album (non-classical), sweeping in all nominated categories.
Blackstar was released Jan. 8, 2016, to coincide with Bowie's 69th birthday. The music great shook the industry when he died of liver cancer just two days following the album's release.
James Corden hosted the awards, which aired live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
