Writer-director David Gordon Green has signed with Cinetic Media for management.

The filmmaker, who got his start with indies like George Washington before becoming the prolific comedy director behind titles that include Pineapple Express, most recently directed Blumhouse feature Halloween and executive produced HBO and directed HBO series The Righteous Gemstones.

Upcoming projects include Halloween Kills, the sequel to his reboot of the classic horror franchise, which set for an October 2021 release. He is also currently developing a Smokey and the Bandit television series with UCP and Seth MacFarlane's Fuzzy Door.

Cinetic, which also houses sales, financing, marketing, and corporate advisory businesses, is aggressively pushing into talent management, representing filmmakers that include Richard Linklater, Matthew Heineman, and Lana Wilson.

"The people we serve best are the multi-hyphenates who seek to work both inside and outside the system and maintain the most control over their vision," said Cinetic principal John Sloss. "David represents the type of creator who is well-positioned to maximize Cinetic’s finance and enterprise building capabilities across film, television and the entire media landscape."

Green continues to be represented by CAA and attorney Pryor Cashman.
