David Oyelowo to Star in, Produce Gun Drama 'Another Day In the Death of America'
The film is based on the upcoming book from Guardian journalist Gary Younge.
David Oyelowo is set to star in Another Day in the Death of America, which will be a narrative portrait of gun violence in America.
The film will be an adaptation of the Gary Younge book, which he wrote as a follow-up to his 2007 Guardian article, which takes place entirely on Nov. 23, 2013, when 10 children were shot dead. None of the deaths made the national news.
The book will be published by Faber & Faber in the U.K. in September and by Nation Books in the U.S. on Oct. 4.
Money Monster producers Daniel Dubiecki and Lara Alameddine will produce Another Day, along with Eric Eisner and Oyelowo. Younge will executive produce the project along with Tim Crane.
Oyelowo is known for portraying Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in Ava Duvernay's Selma, as well as for roles in Lincoln, Lee Daniels' The Butler and Interstellar. It was recently revealed that he is in talks to play an astronaut in J.J. Abrams' The God Particle.
Oyelowo is repped by CAA, the U.K.'s Hamilton Hodell, Inphenate and the U.K's Schreck Rose.
