David Reckziegel Leaving Entertainment One for New Venture

The head of the North American film business is to launch his own shingle, which will provide financing and advisory services for entertainment companies.

TORONTO – David Reckziegel, head of Entertainment One's North American film business, is leaving the Canadian producer and distributor.

Reckziegel will leave the house on May 31 to launch a new venture, which will provide financing and advisory services to media and entertainment companies.

He joined eOne in 2007 after it acquired his company, Seville Films.

"I’m excited to launch a new venture that combines what I’ve learned over the past 25-plus years in the entertainment and investment banking businesses," Reckziegel said in a statement on Thursday.

His departure follows eOne on April 1 launching Seville International as an indie sales division of Entertainment One Films International, to be headed up by Anick Poirier.
