De Mol ups stake in Jetix


AMSTERDAM -- Dutch media mogul John de Mol has extended his share in children's channel Jetix Europe and now owns 17.4% of the Walt Disney Co.-controlled network.

Two years ago, de Mol's stake stood at 10.1% in the specialized children's channel. Disney's stake stands at about 75%.

De Mol has used his investment vehicle Cyrte Investments, known formerly as Talpa Capital, to extend his share in Jetix, market data shows. Cyrte also was responsible for investments in HIT Entertainment and the English soccer club Manchester United.
