'Deadliest Catch' has strong finale

Season closer averaged 3.6 million viewers

NEW YORK -- The season finale of Discovery's "Deadliest Catch" reeled in big ratings Tuesday.

"Deadliest Catch: The Final Hour" averaged 3.6 million viewers, Nielsen Media Research said. It was the most-watched episode of its fourth season, although it was the fourth highest-rated episode of the fourth season.

The 2.2 rating in adults 25-54 was up 15% week-to-week while the household rating (2.2) was up 14%. The show was also the top primetime cable show in households, adults 25-54 and male demos.

This season's finale was the second highest of four among total viewers, behind only last year's 4.1 million.
