'Deal' gives NBC Monday ratings win

NEW YORK -- NBC won Monday's primetime thanks to a strong "Deal or No Deal," although the new series "My Dad is Better Than Your Dad" failed to beat a repeat  of "Two and a Half Men."

"Deal" averaged 16.8 million viewers and a 5.2 rating/13 share in the adults 18-49 demographic, according to preliminary estimates released Tuesday by Nielsen Media Research. It was the top show in viewership and the demo for the night, providing a good lead-in for "My Dad." But the new show couldn't gather as much steam; it averaged 9.8 million viewers and a 3.5/9 in adults 18-49.

That was enough to beat the finale of "Dance War" (9.1 million, 2.3/6) and "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" (8.1 million, 3.1/8). But a repeat "Two and a Half Men" (12.3 million, 4.0/10) bested it between 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

For the night, NBC (11.7 million, 3.8/10) won in 18-49 against ABC (7.6 million, 2.1/5); CBS (8.7 million, 2.8/7); Fox (7.7 million, 3.1/8); and The CW (1.5 million, 0.7/2).
