DeLoach to receive humanitarian honor

NEW YORK -- Fox Searchlight exec Sheila DeLoach has been chosen to receive the 2008 Humanitarian Award from the Variety Boys and Girls Club of Queens.

The senior vp and general sales manager of the Fox specialty division oversees the distributor's North American sales operations and has been a longtime contributor to charitable causes.

DeLoach is a veteran member of Variety-The Children's Charity, a Will Rogers/Motion Picture Pioneers board member and chair of Help Our Neighbors Eat Year Round (H.O.N.E.Y.) She has also participated in annual walkathons for multiple sclerosis and cancer research.

Her tenure at FSL includes work on such films as "Juno," "Little Miss Sunshine" and, as vp distribution, "Sideways" and "Napoleon Dynamite." Prior to this, she held positions at Fox and Columbia Pictures.

The 57th annual Humanitarian Award dinner will be held June 11 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York. The benefit will raise funds for the Variety Boys and Girls Club of Queens, a recreational and educational facility.
