Denmark's A-Film Picks up New Almodovar, Winterbottom Films at Berlin

COLOGNE, Germany -- Denmark distributor A-Film puffed up its 2011 slate at the European Film Market last week, securing several high-profile art house titles including the new film from Pedro Almodovar and Michael Winterbottom.

Among A-Film's buys in Berlin were Almodovar's revenge drama The Skin That I Inhabit starring Antonio Banderas; Winterbottom's Trishna, a modern-day take on Thomas Hardy's Tess of the d'Urbervilles and French romance La fille du puisatier, directed by and starring Daniel Auteuil.

A-Film also grabbed Dustin Hoffman's directorial debut, Quartet, featuring Maggie Smith and Albert Finney; Justin Chadwick's Kenyan-set drama The First Grader; Norwegian period drama Cornelis and Nadine Lekbati's in-production dramedy Where Do We Go Now?
