L.A. Designers Mary Alice Haney, Adina Reyter and Tyler Ellis Join Forces for Pop-Up Shop
Go local (and get a head start on holiday dressing and gifting) at the Brentwood Country Mart pop-up, open today through Oct. 15.
In a nod to women supporting women, L.A.-based designers Mary Alice Haney, Adina Reyter and Tyler Ellis (who all have a major Hollywood following) have joined their fashion forces to launch a two-week pop-up shop at the Brentwood Country Mart. Open today through Oct.15, the 3,000-square-foot shop, decorated by Tim Clarke Design, has an easy, beachy vibe and is the first bricks-and-mortar presence for all three brands. Molly Sims, Katie Lee and Ali Larter are expected at tomorrow night’s official opening party.
A former celebrity stylist, Haney has dressed everyone from Jennifer Lawrence to Eva Mendes and Reese Witherspoon and her Haney ready-to-wear label, launched five years ago, has been spotted on Witherspoon, Jane Fonda, Chrissy Teigen, Taylor Swift and Scarlett Johansson, among others. Known for sultry, body-conscious dresses and jumpsuits, the brand introduced a new Green Label collection ($495-$1150) earlier this year created from re-purposed fabrics that is on offer at the pop-up shop; all made at L.A. factories.
Sleek frame and envelope clutches by Tyler Ellis (daughter of the late and legendary fashion designer Perry Ellis) have become Hollywood’s red carpet go-to since Ellis moved her company from New York to L.A. last June. At last month’s Emmy awards, Allison Janney, Chrissy Teigen, Jessica Biel, Sarah Paulson, Evan Rachel Wood, Emilia Clarke and Tiffany Haddish were among those who accessorized their gowns with Tyler Ellis bags. Witherspoon, Oprah Winfrey and Gigi Hadid are also fans.
Ellis’ fall collection and pieces from her forthcoming spring line (starting from $910) in leather, satin, velvet, stingray, snakeskin and chainmail are available at the pop-up. Tyler Ellis bags are handcrafted at a small, family-owned atelier in Florence, Italy. A $3,550 piped leather Ivy Tote, created in collaboration with celeb stylist Elizabeth Stewart, is also on offer in new colors. Clients can create their own custom bags by choosing any combination of hardware and fabrics (even made to match an outfit or dress) for existing designs, thanks to a new bespoke service. Bags can also be personalized with a name, monogram or phrase. Custom orders are delivered within a few weeks.
Angeleno Adina Reyter describes her designs as “fine jewelry for life.” The accessibly priced, timeless styles (starting at $125) are designed to be worn every day. Think forever pieces: diamond pave mini hoop earrings, bar necklaces and band rings. Reyter’s most prominent fan just might be the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle, who personally purchased a pair of 3 Diamond Amigos earrings and has worn them on multiple occasions. Lady Gaga, Cameron Diaz, Gwyneth Paltrow, Miley Cyrus and Zoe Saldana are also clients, while Demi Moore and Jennifer Aniston were among the first to purchase pieces at a Beverly Hills salon after the brand launched in 2001.
Reyter’s complete collections are at the shop, along with a new line of friendship bracelets embellished with pave diamonds on colorful nylon bands and new pave dog tag necklaces for the holidays, which can all be engraved; orders are taken at the store.
