"Despacito" Has Most-Viewed Lyrics of 2017

The crossover Latin track reigns at No. 1 in LyricFind’s year-end ranking.

Give “Despacito” yet another notch on its year-end belt: The Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee track, which features Justin Bieber, is the most viewed song on lyrics websites this year, according to lyric aggregator LyricFind.

LyricFind has released its ranking of the top 25 song lyrics of 2017, based on global searches across multiple lyric platforms this year. And “Despacito,” which was originally released in January with just Fonsi and Daddy Yankee and had become a smash hit in Latin markets prior to the remix with Bieber, leads the ranking, little surprise given the track’s ascent to No. 1 in dozens of countries, including a 16-week reign atop the Billboard Hot 100 beginning in May.

According to LyricFind data, the highest volume of lyric searches for “Despacito” came from the United States, India and Germany.

Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You,” another multiweek Hot 100 No. 1 (12 weeks), ranks at No. 2 on LyricFind’s year-end list, followed by alternative crossover hit “Feel It Still,” by Portugal. The Man, at No. 3.

“Despacito” isn’t the only primarily (or fully) Spanish-language track in the top 10, either, as Maluma’s “Felices Los 4,” which peaked at No. 48 on the Hot 100 in August as the Colombian singer’s first solo entry on the chart, concludes the year at No. 8 on LyricFind’s ranking.

Though the vast majority of songs on the list are from either 2017 or 2016, one older song makes the list: John Legend’s 2013 hit “All of Me,” which comes in at No. 15.
