Ex-DICE Canada staffers go REDJADE

Earlier this month Electronic Arts confirmed the closure of DICE Canada following the acquisition of Digital Illusions CE. Now several of those former DICE Canada employees have founded a new art creation services company called REDJADE.

The London, Ontario-based studio will be "dedicated to servicing the growing interactive entertainment industry and will focus its efforts on supplying art creation services for the PC as well as current and next generation consoles." REDJADE was founded and will be led by Fredrik Liliegren, former CEO of Digital Illusions CE AB.

"I am thrilled to officially open our doors for business. We have a very talented team composed of seasoned veterans who have worked on several high profile titles for globally recognized game franchises," said Fredrik Liliegren, CEO of REDJADE Inc. "REDJADE has strong opportunities for growth. This sector of the industry is just now coming into limelight as the game industry is adapting and seeking more flexible and efficient development processes. We're confident that our creative approach and well established processes will address a need in this industry."

Although the company is just now opening for business, it's actually existed for almost a year and initially secured $10 million in funding. The company has expanded to 65 employees during that time.
