Dick new head of Senator TV

COLOGNE, Germany -- German TV production veteran Nikolaus Dick, has been named head of the newly founded Senator TV.

A subsidiary of Berlin film group Senator Entertainment, Senator TV represents the company's first-ever move to the small screen.

"With (the appointment of) Nickolaus Dick we have taken our first and a very important step towards television production," said Senator CEO Helge Sasse.

Dick was production head at Berlin-based channel Sat.1 from 1994-2002, where he oversaw local hits including minis "The Tunnel" and "The King of St. Pauli," series including "Edel and Stack" and long-running lonely hearts show "Love Is All That Counts."

More recently, he was managing director for Berlin-based independent production house Berliner Union-Film.
