Genius Products is gearing up for the first DVD releases in its new distribution deal with TLC and Animal Planet. First up is "Diana: Last Days of a Princess," which will be out Aug. 28, three days shy of the 10th anniversary of Princess Diana's death. The program aired Sunday night on TLC. October will bring three more titles: Season 1 of "Little People, Big World" on Oct. 2, Season 1 of "Meerkat Manor" on Oct. 9 and Season 1 of "Miami Ink" on Oct. 16.

Vivendi adds

Vivendi Visual Entertainment is pushing the envelope with bonus features when it comes to the Sept. 18 DVD release of edgy director Uwe Boll's "BloodRayne 2: Deliverance." The double-disc set comes with a full-length digital comic book as well as the original "BloodRayne" PC video game from Majesco Entertainment.

Blu-ray boosts

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is reporting a sharp uptick in Blu-ray Disc sales in six emerging markets: Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Eastern Europe, South Africa and the Middle East. Since the high-definition disc format was launched in these markets in April, Blu-ray Disc sales have accounted for 10% of the supplier's total business in those regions, fueled by a 21% increase in orders in June alone.

MTI's space

Independent DVD supplier MTI Home Video now has its own MySpace page and has signed up more than 800 "friends" in a single week. The company, best known for its horror and other genre movies, is moving further into the TV-DVD business with Season 3 of the late-night Oxygen network anthology series "Bliss," which will be out Sept. 25.
