Digest: 'Sopranos,' 'Web,' 'RFK'

Don't stop believin'

HBO Video is releasing the final DVD set of "The Sopranos" on Oct. 23, but fans will have to wait another year to pick up one of those fancy complete-series sets that are fast becoming the standard in the TV-DVD market. "The Sopranos: Season 6, Part II" officially completes the acclaimed mob series' run on DVD; HD DVD and Blu-ray Disc versions also will be available.

'Web' snares awards

Paramount Home Entertainment's "Charlotte's Web" and four other children's video releases were named "Best of the Fest" at the eighth annual Kids First! Film Festival Best Awards. Sharing the limelight at the Oct. 7 ceremony in Malibu, Calif., were "Firehouse Dog" from Fox, "Viola" from James Marcus Haney, "My Backyard Was a Mountain" from Palmavejo Films and "Phonics 4 Babies" from Starz Home Entertainment. Other winners include "Eye of the Dolphin" from Monterey Media (best feature for ages 12-18) and "Fabulously Fit Moms" from Koch Entertainment (Best Parent How-To). The festival and awards are produced by the nonprofit Coalition for Quality Children's Media.

Dokument elects 'RFK'

Dokument Films on Nov. 20 will bow on DVD "RFK Must Die: The Assassination of Robert Kennedy," a provocative documentary from producer-director Shane O'Sullivan. The docu is based on O'Sullivan's reports for BBC Newsnight and the Guardian and presents evidence alleging a link between the CIA and the June 1968 assassination of Kennedy as he campaigned in Los Angeles for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Orbison on DVD

The classic rock 'n' roll concert film "Roy Orbison: Black & White Night" will be released Dec. 18 on HD DVD by Image Entertainment. The 1987 performance by the late rock legend includes such guest musicians as Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello and Jackson Browne. Also coming to HD DVD from Image that day is "The Moody Blues: Lovely to See You Live," filmed during the veteran band's June 2005 show at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles.
