Digital Media Firm Jukin Media Signs With WME (Exclusive)

The online video clip house operates a network of YouTube channels

Jukin Media, a YouTube video licensing company, has signed with William Morris Endeavor, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. 

The Culver City-based company was founded in 2009 by Jonathan Skogmo to source, license and distribute blooper and viral videos posted to YouTube. Jukin operates a YouTube network that includes its FailArmy channel, which has more than 5.8 million subscribers. 

The company has also begun to expand its business, signing such deals as the one it inked with Ryan Seacrest Productions  in April to source and license clips for Nickelodeon summer game show Webheads.

Jukin has also begun to expand into television development, hiring former Lifetime reality executive Jessica Samet to lead the initiative. The company is currently working on a FailArmy show with Dick Clark Productions and has signed development deals with Cupcake Wars producer Super Delicious and Swamp Hunters producer T Group. 

Jukin CEO Skogmo says that signing with WME will help the company as it continues to pursue linear projects. 

"We’re excited about WME and what they bring to the table," he says. "I think they’ll bring amazing opportunities to us and connect us with other talented companies that will support us on our original content initiatives."

Jukin has raised more than $2 million from investors that include Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments, Maker Studios and Peter Guber.  

Dick Clark Productions and The Hollywood Reporter are both owned by Guggenheim Partners.
