Why Dino De Laurentiis' Funeral Will be Bursting With Color

Red will be the color of choice at Monday's public funeral service for producer Dino De Laurentiis in Los Angeles.

The family of the La Strada and Nights of Cambria Oscar winner said in a request, "Dino De Laurentiis did not want to be met with a sea of black at his funeral. Please honor Dino by wearing something red -- the color from which he drew power."

De Laurentiis died Wednesday at his Beverly Hills home. He was 91.

His funeral takes place Monday at 1:30 p.m. PT at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in downtown L.A.

Donations in honor of the late producer can be made online or via U.S. mail to the Save the Children charity.
