Director Rittakol dies of heart attack

Best known for 'Boonchoo' series of comedies

HONG KONG -- Thai film director Bhandit Rittakol died of a heart attack in hospital on Thursday, having suffered long term problems with his kidneys.
He regularly worked with the Five Star Production and Pranakorn companies across a wide range of genres in a 28 film career. He will likely be best known for his "Boonchoo" comedies.
Having delivered "Boonchoo 9" in 2008 and "I Miss You Again" earlier this year, he was in pre-production of "Boonchoo 10," when he died.
"He was a legend and definitely one of Thailand's best directors," said a spokesman for Five Star.
