'The Disaster Artist' Trailer: James, Dave Franco Say, "Oh, Hi Mark"

Seth Rogen directs the duo in the first look at the SXSW standout.

James Franco is having a tough time remembering his lines in the teaser trailer for The Disaster Artist.

In the spot for the making-of movie about the 2003 drama The Room, one of the worst films of all time, audiences get their first real look at Franco's eccentric director Tommy Wiseau, weird accent and all.

Seth Rogen, Alison Brie and Josh Hutcherson also star in the comedy, which was adapted by 500 Days of Summer writers Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber. Room actor Greg Sestero is played by Franco's brother Dave.

At its SXSW premiere, The Disaster Artist received a standing ovation and universally rave reviews. THR's critic writes that the movie is an "Ed Wood-esque blend of comedy and pathos that could very well earn its own cult status."

A24, who picked up the domestic distribution from Warner Bros./New Line, has given the movie an awards season release date, with a limited release Dec. 1 before going wide a week later.
